Annual salary range: $139,360 to $204,942

The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) seeks a passionate, collaborative, and dynamic leader to build upon years of successful efforts to Build Better Lives and Better Neighborhoods in Los Angeles County. LACDA is looking for a leader of hearts, minds, and people to improve the lives of Los Angeles County residents by providing affordable and public housing, constructing community improvements, and developing a suite of sustainable supportive services that address a wide range of needs.

The Deputy Executive Director (DED) is an executive management position reporting directly to the Executive Director. LACDA has two Deputy Executive Directors who serve as general managers overseeing a wide range of agency activities. The DED of administration, serves as the agency’s Chief of Operations and oversees Human Resources, Risk Management/Safety, Facilities & Fleet Management, Procurement, Information Technology, and Print Shop/Mail Room. The other DED serves as the Chief of Programs and oversees the service delivery of programs and facilitates special project activities for four (4) divisions in the agency that include Housing Assistance, Housing Operations, Housing Investment and Finance, and Community and Economic Development. Oversight also includes activities in the Traffic Administration Services unit.

The ideal candidate will be a key executive developer of, and contributor to, innovative strategic solutions in support of a variety of federally and locally funded programs. In partnership with elected officials and staff, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building partnerships and working collaboratively in developing approaches to sustain and expand affordable housing and community development in the county. The candidate must possess a thorough and substantive, experience-based understanding of the principles and priorities of public sector administration and management, and have an extensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to affordable and public housing, grant and loan management, construction management, project management, and community and economic development.
