Salary range: $130,000 to $170,000

The City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department is dedicated to building strong neighborhoods by empowering residents with housing, community development, and social services. Its mission is to promote economic independence, sustainable housing, and healthy, successful neighborhoods through partnerships with residents, businesses, and non-profit and government agencies.

The Department offers a host of social programs and services to connect disadvantaged households with a variety of resources and tools that offer pathways to economic opportunity and self-sufficiency. The Community Action Partner program provides support to communities through education and training, special events, veteran’s assistance, and economic empowerment through the Envision Center. The CAPWorks Programs assist residents with becoming economically independent by placing clients in and paying for skills training classes, workshops, short-term certification classes, certifications, licensures, uniforms, books, and anything related to training and employment.

As the Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services – Community Services, you’ll play a pivotal advisory role to the Director, providing strategic insights on policy, budgeting, and spearheading long-term operational strategies for the department. You’ll lead a dedicated team of 45 FTEs focused on providing exemplary Human Services programs in collaborative partnership with Community Action Partners and the Fort Worth Envision Center.

We’re seeking a seasoned servant leader with a wealth of experience in social services programs. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the human services ecosystem and the delivery of social services, along with proficiency in local, state, and federal grant programs and other funding options.
